Kathy Franco is one of the most dedicated researchers I have met. Not because of the research she participates in, the importance of which can't be overstated, but because she dedicates so much time to training the next generation of researchers (PI's, Coordinators, Monitors, etc.) and retraining the current population of researchers to maintain the absolute peak of quality. She is willing to take calculated risks to support her people, which has resulted in many bold and innovative proposals and grant opportunities.
